Grit & Glaze is a vibrant ceramics brand known for its colorful and artistic ceramic vases that bring joy and light into everyday life. The brand's essence is captured in its unique products, which are crafted with a playful yet elegant spirit, reflecting the brand's core values of creativity, joy, and inspiration. Grit & Glaze aims to infuse homes with light, color, and happiness, making art and individuality accessible to all.

Challenge

Before partnering with Sketchy Digital, Grit & Glaze encountered several challenges that hindered their brand's potential. The brand's visual elements were inconsistent, leading to a fragmented image that didn't fully capture its vibrant and playful spirit. Despite the uniqueness of their products, Grit & Glaze struggled with low brand recognition in a competitive market. Additionally, the customer experience across various touchpoints, including online and offline platforms, lacked cohesion, making it difficult for customers to connect with the brand.

Logotype

Mold the logo

The name directly represents the essence of the brand, and its shape resembles that of a ceramist's creation. The irregular surface of the letters signifies the handmade quality, emphasizing human involvement in the beauty of the product. Additionally, the ampersand symbol is designed like a vase, giving a clue about the brand's category and the nature of Grit & Glaze's products.

Colors

Artistic touch

The colors chosen for this ceramics brand are quite unconventional. Typically, earthy, pastel shades come to mind. However, we decided to take a different approach. Since our target audience consists of energetic young people, we opted for bright, accent colors. Brick orange represents the color of clay. Blue symbolizes water, a crucial ingredient in the production process. Yellow, an additional color, represents the sun, which helps dry the clay before baking.

Well-rounded duo

For the Grit & Glaze brand, the chosen font pair is Lalezar and Gotham. Lalezar is confident, bold, and attention-grabbing, while Gotham provides easy readability for additional text without drawing attention to itself.
